League Tournaments Begin!

Varsity tournament days are rad! Yes. Rad. The league tournaments are comprised of 30 golfers from around the county, competing for themselves and their schools in an 18-hole round of golf. The day is full of frustration and delight, failure and success, frowns and smiles, and competition and comaradarie. And when it's all over, there's one "Medalist" (individual golfer with the lowest score) and one team champion (team with lowest combined scores). Morro Bay was smiling at the end of our first tournament in Lompoc.

Jonas shot an even-par round of 72, taking home the individual tournament victory and leading Morro Bay to a team win! The Hawk brothers scored in the top 10 overall with a 79 and 83, increasing the team lead over the field. Braeden and Theo rounded out the team score, finishing in the middle of the pack and locking in the first ever tournament championship of the newly created Sunset League. The league consists of 5 teams, including Santa Ynez, Nipomo, Paso Robles, and Cabrillo.

The boys are back at it this Monday in Santa Ynez, looking to stay strong in the second league tournament. Keeping working hard and having fun!
