It has been way too long! We hope you are doing well and we are excited to see you guys soon.

While nothing is official at this point and everything is subject to change, our athletic department is working hard to figure out how to safely begin our sports seasons! And there is a good chance golf will be one of the first sports to get going; with practice beginning as early as January 19th and competitions likely the first week of March. With that said, we want to be ready! Here are some things to be on top of:

1) Good Grades:

-The semester ends next Friday, so students

must be caught up on all assignments and

prepared for Finals. Athletes must maintain a

2.0 gpa to compete! We have academic

probation, but don't want to flirt with that.

2) Athletic Clearance:

-Athletes must have an athletic physical and

turned in the athletic contract and waiver

forms to participate. Athletic physicals are

good for one calendar year from the date in

which athletes got the physical. The athletic

contract and waiver is good for the entire

school year. Here is a link to the website

with forms.

3) Work/Jobs:

-If students have an after school job, please

make arrangements to change schedules

as needed. Varsity will be practicing and/or

competing Monday through Thursday from

3:30pm until dark. Because of limited

space (Boys and Girls Golf will be the same

season), JV will likely only be practicing two

days a week, Monday and Wednesday,

from 3:30pm until dark. Anyone on the team

is required to attend all practices unless

given prior approval by the coach

4) Commitment and Tryouts:

-As previously mentioned, space is limited

this season. We will, unfortunately, be

required to make cuts due to a 25 person

capacity in our cohorts and a limited amount of space at the golf course. It has been a

goal to grow our program and sport the last

couple of years, so if athletes are unable to

be fully committed or do not make the team,

please talk to one of the coaches to see

how you can stay involved!

5) Get Ready:

-Our varsity team will be very competitive

this year. There are a lot of golfers who have

been working hard to improve their game

and the results have been awesome! If

athletes are wanting to compete with

varsity, they will need to be ready for

tryouts. Get out to the course and practice

over the next couple weeks!

-Our JV team will also be extremely

competitive this year due to limited space.

Although skills are still important at the JV

level, we will really be focusing on

commitment and passion from athletes. If

an athlete is new to golf and worried their

skills are not the greatest, still try out! We

will fill our JV team with athletes who have

passion and commitment first foremost.

6) Be Safe:

-We are still in the middle of a pandemic and

must remain safe. We are lucky to play a

sport where we can play outdoors, maintain social distance, and wear a mask without

changing the spirit of our game.

Please respond if you plan to tryout for golf this year and which team you hope to play with (JV or Varsity). We can’t wait to see you all on the course!
