Week 14 Power Rankings

Our varsity squad has been looking forward to our dual meet vs. SLO High all season. We finally had the chance to battle one of our league's best golf programs this week. And both teams came to play. We hosted SLO at our home course on Monday and had some obvious nerves. SLO came in and played an amazing round, shooting 199 as a team. We had our toughest round of the short season with a 214. While it wasn't the score we were looking for, it was the motivation we needed.

MBHS came back on Thursday and turned in a phenomenal 203 at a very challenging Dairy Creek Golf Course. This score bested the solid 207 turned in by SLO. MBHS was led by John Riley (36), Ben Reid (39), and Nicholas Londono (39). The looks of confidence and smiles in the picture above give a glimpse of how the boys felt after the match, but it doesn't do justice to the pride our team had. Hard work pays off! Varsity has matches against another tough league team, Righetti HS, this week.

Our JV team had their second team challenge this week and we had several golfers score right around the 50 mark (well done!). 7 golfers showed up to battle and a couple played their first ever 9 holes. Congrats to Curtis on the victory and to everyone else for pushing through 9 holes on a cold, windy day.
